Since the start of the year, the Novabase Group has already added another 81 young graduates to its team through the Novabase Academy, a program aimed at selecting and developing talent among students graduating from universities. The young graduates joined Celfocus, a Novabase Group company involved in telecommunications, financial services and other sectors.
Celfocus’ strategy for attracting and retaining talent has remained unchanged despite the pandemic, where Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Universidade Nova de Lisboa’s School of Sciences and Technology and the Lisbon University Institute (ISCTE) have dominated in the placements of young graduates this year. Most of the new employees have a Master’s degree, followed by a Bachelor’s as the preferred education level. With regard to degree courses, the majority have been educated in IT engineering, electrotechnical and computer engineering and biomedical engineering.
“Attracting and hiring qualified talent continues to be one of our priorities, as well as one of our biggest challenges. This program has become essential in attracting young people at the start of their career, in an area where demand for the best talent continues to be a reality. At a time when youth employability is of critical importance, it is essential to support them by giving them the tools and knowledge needed to successfully start their career,” says Isabel Costa de Sousa, in charge of the Talent Acquisition area at Celfocus. “This is why we are truly excited to open our doors to these 81 people and introduce them to the professional world, through international projects in cutting-edge technologies.”
More than 1,500 young graduates have been hired by the technology company under the Novabase Academy program since it began in 2006.
To supplement this program, the Novabase Group has strong ties with universities, with strategic partnerships and involvement in numerous joint initiatives. Of particular note is the recently renewed partnership with Instituto Superior Técnico, aimed at continuing to align technical expertise and scientific knowledge with the needs of the market, in order to educate young talent and prepare them for their professional career.
