Since 1989, we have been accumulating experience, we have made discoveries, raised new questions, progressed as a team, gathered abilities and reached success. Here is Novabase history.

Novabase emerges in 1989, positioned as software-house, specialized in customized development. In 1994, become the first Portuguese company in software development market to be certified by IPQ – Instituto Português da Qualidade (Portuguese Institute for the Quality), according to standard NP EN ISO 9001.

During the second half of the 90’s, Novabase positioned as a System Integrator, increasing its offer, building a specialist enterprises network, each of them in a certain system class.

Twenty years after its foundation, Novabase is the leading Portuguese company in IT business solutions. Its turnover was €292 million in 2008, 25% of which originated from outside of Portugal.

With more than 1,800 employees in 2008, Novabase has reinforced its market position as a leader in several of the most important market sectors. It is among the fastest growing companies in the area of IT Services, leading the ranking in Consulting and Deployment with a market share of more than 10% (“Competitive Analysis of the IT Services Market in Portugal 2008” by IDC).

It also has a corporate venture business named Novabase Capital. Novabase has been listed on the Euronext Lisbon stock exchange since July 2000, being considered in the last few years as one of the most compliant companies with CMVM recommendations and Corporate Governance best practices.
