In 2017, the Novabase Academy received more than 500 applications. Roadshows held at universities and polytechnic institutes throughout the country were followed by intensive training while boarding for two weeks, where the chosen trainees built a bridge between the academic and corporate worlds.
The new staff joined different business areas of the company, including Telecommunications, Financial Services, Government, Transport and Energy.
“The Novabase Academy provides access to one of the fastest-growing industries, and has had a mounting impact on the life shared by all of us, that of Information Technologies. We will continue to invest in this program, with new groups already scheduled for 2018, which we plan to fill with young people seeking to embrace innovative domestic and international projects,” explained Pedro Crespo, in charge of training at the Novabase Academy.
Since its creation in 2006, more than 1,200 young people have been hired under the Novabase Academy, which has also been held in two more countries outside of Portugal. To supplement this program, Novabase now has strong ties with universities, with strategic partnerships and involvement in numerous joint initiatives at several points throughout the country.
