  • The Novabase Capital management team possesses solid experience in the creation, acquisition and management of technology-based companies, combining diverse expertise in the areas of finance, strategy, management, and particularly information systems.

     

     
    João Nuno Bento | Chairman
     
    Graduate in Electrotechnical Engineering – Systems and Computing Division at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST - Higher Technical Institute), MBA from Universidade Católica (Catholic University). Director of Novabase SGPS and various group companies, responsible for international business and the Digital Television division. He was previously director and manager of Novabase Suporte à Decisão. He was also a founding partner in two IT companies.


    Francisco Antunes | Director

    Graduate in Management and M.Sc. in Finance at ISCTE. Director of Novabase SGPS and various Novabase Group companies. He previously headed financial management of the group as well as the consulting division. He was previously a financial director at EDS - Electronic Data Systems and an auditor at KPMG.








    Luís Quaresma | Director

    Graduate in Computer Engineering at UNL (New University of Lisbon) and MBA from Universidade Católica (Catholic University). Responsible for Novabase’s Energy practice and director at Octal. He was manager of Bain & Company’s private equity practice and previously served as Director of Planning and Development at RTP. He was also a project leader at Boston Consulting Group.



    Luís Soares dos Santos | Director (IAPMEI)

    Graduate in Company Organization and Management from ISCTE (Lisbon University Institute). He was responsible for M&A transactions related to restructuring processes. He served as a director in various financial and non-financial institutions. He is currently director of a Mutual Guarantee Scheme and responsible for IAPMEI’s financial innovation area.


  • María Gil | Director

    Graduate in Electronics Engineering at ICAI, doctorate of Industrial Engineering from U.N.E.D and MBA from INSEAD. Responsible for management of the capital fund Novabase Capital and Novabase’s investor relations area. She worked in strategic consulting at Boston Consulting Group (Madrid and Lisbon) and in M&A at Lehman Brothers (New York and London).


    Miguel Rolo | Associate Partner

    Graduate in Company Management at ISCTE and MBA with specialization in finance from Wharton School – University of Pennsylvania. He performed various jobs at Novabase, namely as the manager of financial management in the TV area. He was previously a senior associate at Mercer Management Consulting and participated in projects in Europe and the United States. He performs his duties as an external consultant.

    Pedro Falcão | Director of Investments

    Graduate in Computer Engineering and MBA from UNL. He was previously Director of Investments at Aitec SGPS and was responsible for the analysis of more than 700 projects. He served as Director of Marketing at the companies TIMw.e. and OutSystems. He was also a strategy consultant at Gemini Consulting.



    Amália Parente | Assistant Professional

    Graduate in human resources management. She served as an administrative assistant at Octal and was previously responsible for various processes in the accounting and human resources area. She also served as administrative technician for the graduate computer engineering and computers program at IST, supporting its coordinator and students.
