Novabase Develops Public Administration Data Platform
Public administration produces and stores a vast collection of data covering various business sectors, which is often unavailable to the general public.
For this reason, Novabase developed the Dados.gov solution, a project of the Administrative Modernization Agency, which publishes and collects raw data produced by public administration, promoting transparency, collaboration and added value from this data for the general public.
The Dados.gov platform was launched by the Administrative Modernization Agency (AMA) in conjunction with the Lisbon City Council to fulfil a number of legislative provisions for easy, direct access to public data in formats that can be read and re-used by any citizen.
“Our experience in this sector made us look at this project from the standpoint of efficiency and user-friendliness.
Technology should be useful to the end-user, creating a more intuitive and transparent link to public administration.
Moreover, the ability to re-use data is particularly important, as it will encourage social (and primarily corporate) initiatives to create new applications and tools that use public data, with clear added value,” says Novabase Director Carmo Palma.
